Blooms The Chemist
partnership on disability
Blooms The Chemist has entered a community-driven partnership with
disability organisation House with No Steps to increase community
support for people living with a disability, their families and carers.
Blooms The Chemist General Manager of
Operations (GMO), Jason Blanchard said
the community-focused partnership
would enhance the overall health,
wellbeing and quality of life of
Australians living with a disability.
‘ We are delighted to be partnering
with House with No Steps in making
professional healthcare more accessible
to those living with a disability.
‘Our partnership with this wonderful
organisation, with which we share
similar values and a geographical
footprint, will allow Blooms The Chemist
to be “the First Call Pharmacy
Professionals” for members of the
community living with a disability
requiring our services and support on an
ongoing basis,’ he said.
House with No Steps Managing Director,
Andrew Richardson, welcomed the
partnership with and its ability to
strengthen House with No Steps’
support of several thousand people
across New South Wales (NSW),
Queensland and the Australian
‘Our partnership is an initiative that
makes a lot of sense. It’s about thinking
differently and stepping outside
our traditional comfort zone, to the
benefit of those whom we support,’
Mr Richardson said.
The partnership will offer people
supported by House with No Steps a
dedicated service from pharmacists
and staff in all Blooms the Chemist
pharmacies. They will be able to access
in-store HealthChecks (sleep apnoea,
cholesterol tests, blood pressure and
stroke risk assessments, diabetes
monitoring, and flu clinics), medication
reviews, support and professional
advice, free Webster packing or Dose
Administration Aids (DAA), free delivery
of medications (where possible) and the
Blooms Loyalty Program and a Blooms
Blooms the Chemist pharmacists will be
available to discuss pain management,
nutritional, behavioural and hydration
issues, and any other matters
regarding the quality use of medicines.
The pharmacies will also be charged
with incident reporting, legibility of
orders, medication administration and
review (‘Meds Check’), recording and
storage, and performing audits on
all House with No Steps service sites,
to ensure adherence to all legislative
medication storage requirements.
Sigma alliance with Reform
Sigma Pharmaceuticals Limited (Sigma)
has confirmed a five-year wholesale supply
and services agreement with Reform
With over 1,900 independent community
pharmacy customers nationally, Reform has
one of the largest independent networks
and is committed to partnering with suppliers
to support their servicing and buying
Sigma Chief Executive Officer Mark Hooper
said that Reform provides critical services to its
community pharmacy members to support
customers to pro-actively manage their health.
‘It is really pleasing that Reform has chosen
Sigma as their partner of choice and we look
forward to this partnership further developing
over the long term.’
Reform has been a long term wholesale
customer of Sigma.
Reform Managing Director Peter Nelson
